A little help with reading

Opening a file, keeping a book, or finding your place again.

Open now, keep for later

Tap Open on the home toolbar and choose a file in the system file picker. Files from iCloud or another provider may need to finish downloading first.

Opening a file does not automatically add it to your library. Use Add to library in the reader to keep it, or Add books on the Library screen to import books. Temporary files remain under Recent.

Which files can I read?

PDF, EPUB, FB2, FB2.zip, TXT, MD/Markdown, JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, CBZ and CBR. GIF animation is supported. TXT supports UTF-8, GBK and UTF-16.

Enter the correct password when opening a protected PDF. EasyRead cannot recover a forgotten password. DRM-protected ebooks, encrypted or multipart CBR archives, Office documents and general ZIP archives are not supported.

Each file can be up to 128 MB. TXT, Markdown and FB2 content can be up to 16 MB. Very large or damaged archives may also exceed safe extraction limits.

Choose how to read

Continuous scrolling is on by default. For formats with pages, turn it off in Reading settings to use page buttons or horizontal swipe paging. TXT and Markdown remain continuous, and page buttons are unavailable for continuous-only text or a single image.

Reading settings apply across the app. Font size changes reflowable text, not the fixed layout of a PDF or image. PDFs and images keep their original colors. The interface follows your device's supported language preferences.

Save a reading position

Double-tap the reading area. A line appears near the nearest preceding paragraph or page position, with an Add bookmark action. Open Contents and bookmarks from the bottom progress control to return to a saved position.

Your library stays on your device

EasyRead has no account system or developer-operated cloud sync. Removing a book from the library leaves it in Recent; clearing recent history removes temporary copies and their records. These actions do not delete your original files.

Operating-system backups may include app data. To remove all local app data on iOS, use Delete App rather than Offload App. Manage system backups separately. See the privacy policy for details.
